Emely Tobar, BFA degree in Graphic Design: Otis College of Art and Design I am a first-generation Hispanic woman based in Los Angeles, California.

My creative journey is deeply rooted in personal experiences. I draw inspiration from my past, infusing a sense of nostalgia into my projects, and aiming to evoke the same sentiment in viewers. The driving forces behind my work are social awareness and mental health. These themes inform the content of my projects, challenging me to craft meaningful narratives through the lens of graphic design. I predominantly work in digital media, employing a wide array of image-making techniques, many of which find their ultimate form in printed publications. The choice of a limited color palette is a deliberate one in my creative process. I believe that color plays a pivotal role in visual communication, and by using a restricted range, I aim to evoke specific emotions and messages.
